Position: Mechanical/ Piping Engineer Location: Russia (Rotational Assignment)
Job function: The Mechanical / Piping Engineer is responsible for broad technical oversight of the EPCM contractor's on site construction supervision activities as well as those of the ME&I contractor, with particular emphasis on piping, vessels, and packaged equipment (excluding rotating machinery). Gains alignment with the Engineering Manager and the Facilities Engineer on facilities engineering needs, objectives, and requirements. Supports project stewardship and EMCAPS compliance requirements.
RESPONSIBILITY AND DUTIES:
* Provide overall facilities engineering leadership and technical expertise at the construction site * Assisting with and facilitate responses to Requests For Information from Construction and their contractors * Monitoring construction and installation activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and issued design documents * Participating in and assisting with walk-downs of the various systems in preparation for hand-over * Supporting document control activities including preparation and review of redline drawings * Performing calculations as may be necessary to support design changes * Providing information and training as may be necessary for Operations staff to familiarize them with the design
Required KNOWLEDGE, qualifications, skills, and EXPERIENCE: * Extensive knowledge of facilities: * Design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria * Onshore facilities and structures design, construction, and operations * Client’s practices, processes, and expectations with respect to facilities engineering and management of change * Bachelors Degree in an engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical * 10+ years experience in crude oil and gas producing facilities design and operation with some construction site experience. * Experience in coordinating engineering contractor and claims avoidance management desired. * Must be able to interface with others outside the Facilities Group to help determine whether or not design objectives/deliverables are being met * Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, Lotus Notes, etc. * Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical and business communications and the preparation and delivery of presentations
